A reputable, well established, entrepreneurial interior design company is searching for a Staff Accountant to join their team in downtown Chicago. This is a great opportunity for an experienced staff accountant interested in working in a creative environment.

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for all the day to day accounting functions of the retail company. This includes keeping all of the accounting data integrated from the POS system with Great Plains Accounting, reconciling daily close-outs with the daily bank activity (deposits of checks and cash) as well as credit card receipts, Inventory and Purchase Orders reconciliations, bank reconciliations, process accounts payable, paying vendors timely, maintaining an accurate general ledger, timely postings of journal entries, preparation of weekly reports (Aged Accounts Payable, Cash Summary Report, Open PO Report, Cash Requirements Report, maintaining Daily Traffic and Sales Reports and Graphs) and monthly reports (Balance Sheet and Income Statement, Cash Summary Report). The Staff Accountant is also involved in reviewing and auditing the Inventory Valuation Report and resolving any discrepancies on a timely basis.
